The MD-902 Explorer twin-engine light helicopter is an improved version of the MD 900, which entered service in 1994. The MD-902 Explorer features PW206E engines with higher one engine inoperative ratings, revised engine air inlets, improved NOTAR inlet design and a more powerful stabilizer control system. The MD-902 Explorer has improved range and endurance and an increased max takeoff weight over its predecessor – the MD 900 and can carry up to six passengers comfortably.
